This afternoon I set up ten pin bowling in the lounge room to play with Miss 3 and Mr 1. Miss 3 found it a little hard to aim the ball at the pins in order to knock them down, while Mr 1 knocked them down with his hands. After a little while Miss 3 came up with a new game she called bowling tennis. Sitting on the ground we each had a pin and hit the ball to each other creating the tennis part of the game. As the game progressed Miss 3 and Mr 1 were running around the room hitting the ball. Mr 1 decided two pins would be great for drumming. A fun filled afternoon.

Happy Mother’s Day! I shared a wonderful day with my beautiful family, received these stunning green earrings, and met new friends. We enjoyed an afternoon drive through the town of Heberton followed by an indoor picnic.

We met up with old friends of my husband’s. They are looking after a few joeys until they are able to make it in the wild by themselves. These tiny joeys were of facination to Mr 1. He sat near them gently patting them without fear, unlike Miss 3 who was a little concerned they might bite her finger so kept her distance.

I love spending time with my little family.

While Miss 3 and Mr 1 had their afternoon sleep yesterday I set up an outdoor play area for them. The space is designed as an extra carport but is a perfect secure place for the kids to run around and have their own play space. I loved seeing their excitement once they saw it. They played outside for the remainder of the day.

Lunch time today was spent at their picnic table. I can see Miss 3 and Mr 1 spending a lot of time outdoors playing regardless of the weather.

Hooray for the May Day public holiday. After moving over the weekend it was nice to have a family day and explore a little around our new region. We discovered an art gallery cafe in Yungaburra.

Being out in the country is so relaxing and great for the kids. On the way home we drove past paddocks full of cows and Miss 3 called out “bye bye cows we’re off to Atherton”.

Today is moving day. My husband has been commuting to work (1.5hrs each way) over the past 6 weeks. We are so looking forward to all being in the one place with only a 5 minute drive from work to home.

This morning we hired a truck to move all the larger furniture. There was a mix up so we were given an upgrade which meant we only needed to do 2 trips rather than 3 or 4.

It was a long day but we got everything moved and the kids were really good considering all the changes and disruptions over the past 6 weeks.

We decided to keep the garden clean and neat with a simple look of pine bark around plants in the front entertaining section. We’ll follow this theme into the backyard. We still have a couple of weekend trips to finish cleaning and fixing up our house before putting it on the market.

A new fresh start now begins for us in Atherton.

Over the month of May I will be joining Seven Cherubs project, Happy days in May (along with other bloggers and individuals). The idea being to write one sentence each day, for the month, of a moment that has helped you feel happy during the day.

Look what has arrived. Our close friend sent us this wonderful parcel full of kids utensils and baking items from tupperware.

I love the bright colours. We are going to have lots of fun in the kitchen.

It has arrived! Over the years, we’ve ordered many different items from Nanny Annie and have always been impressed by the excellent quality and service. When I saw the giant interactive playpen I thought it would be perfect for Mr 1 as he is now fully mobile. It has a door with a magnetic lock and there are plenty of interactive activities to keep him entertained.

This playpen is large enough for Mr 1 and Miss 3 to play in without feeling squashed or in each other’s space. They already like going in and having a bit of a play. This will really help during the times I’m cooking dinner or need to do other jobs around the house and am unable to keep my eye on whatever Mr 1 might get up to.

“Happy Birthday Daddy”. Miss 3 has been reminding Daddy all day that it’s his birthday (she loves parties now this is the 3rd birthday we’re celebrating so far this year). Miss 3 wanted my husband to have a “Puss in boots” cake so I tried my best to create a cake to her specifications.

We enjoyed a delicous lunch at Skybury overlooking the vast land which will soon become our new home. For afternoon tea we stopped in at Coffee Works. It was a really relaxing day and nice to be out in the country.

Now that Mr 1 is walking everywhere, he’s decided he will also climb on anything he can including turning washing baskets upside down in order to stand on them.
