Starting Solids
Today is day 1 for our son to start solids. He’s in his 5th month and seems eager to put food in his mouth. It’s been 2 years since we were last at this stage. I decided to start with giving him half his milk and then a teaspoon of farex (rice cereal) followed by the rest of his bottle. Our son was not impressed with having to stop his milk as he wanted to finish the whole bottle in one go. It’s rather cute seeing the different faces pulled at the distaste of the first mouthful. Tomorrow I will try giving him a teaspoon of farex an hour after he’s had his milk. He will have a few weeks to get used to swallowing before starting fruit and veggie purees from 6 months.
Impromtu Family Outing
Hello to an impromptu family outing. After a lovely tourist drive we ended up at Palm Cove. It was surprisingly windy but that didn’t stop us building sand castles on the beach. We discovered Marilyn’s cafe, sat watching the ocean splash against the sand while sipping a latte and eating apple crumble. Love family moments.
